I got my Girl Scout cookies today from the neighbor girl. I didn't get too awfully many because there's no one at home to help me eat them. Samoas are my favorite, followed by thin mints. I like the plain shortbread cookies, but this year I got a box of the new cinnamon-flavored shortbreads. I also did my civic duty and put in for a box to be sent to the soldiers at Fort Hood.
We didn't have the usual rush of little girls knocking on our door this year. I wonder if, like many good things, Girl Scouts is a declining institution. Too bad.
I guess it's also time to start looking for the Girl Scout cookie-flavored ice creams, which I will seek with interest but not buy, because who here would eat them?
If I really had my druthers, I would prefer to have Campfire Girl mints. But the old ones, not the ones they have now, if indeed they still have them as I haven't seen any in several years. That institution may be extinct. Yum, they were good. Really creamy in the middle.
I don't think I ever joined Girl Scouts, but I was a Campfire girl. I think I was an entry-level Bluebird. We met in someone's house on the opposite corner of Kitsap Lake from where I lived. I was never much of a joiner, but it was something to do for a little while.
I'm going to have a GS cookie now. And if I eat too many and run out, I'll go find the little girls in green in front of the grocery store. I won't have money on the way in, but I'll get change for on the way out. Their mothers will be very happy to get rid of all those boxes of cookies.

I've already ordered too. The girl next door is a Girl Scout and came by a couple weeks ago; I was so excited. I got Thin Mints, Tag A Longs and 2 boxes of the Short Bread kind. I enjoy it that they sit in front of the grocery stores and sell them too because it's like a cookie-backup plan. (Not that I need this many cookies, but they go quickly and not all by me.)
Growing up in your house I always took Girl Scout cookies forgranted. Now that I'm away and living on my own I realize what a luxury such treats are. I bless you mother for always keeping our house supplied with cookies throughout the season. You're wonderful. (Maybe you could save a box and bring it for Micah and I in April. NO? Ok.)
Girl Scout cookies?!!? Who do I call? We want some!! There are simply not enough girl scouts in Utah! Samoas (said dreamily). Tagalongs (Kelly says dreamily). I'll have to go find some!
I ordered my cookies a few weeks ago, but I have no idea when to expect delivery. I ordered more than ever this year! Ironic considering I gave up sugar and won't even eat them!!
OK, where do I get them? I love them so much, and I don't know any Girl Scouts. Nor do I see them hanging out in front of grocery stores. I've gone for years without my GS cookie fix. If you know any sellers, send them to my door!
