From Fannie's journal:
We left for Utah on the third of July, 1850.
We traveled on the south side of the Platte River.
I was very ill with cholera and was lying so still that they were digging my grave to bury me when my life was saved by the birth of my child.
My son was born the 5th of August. When he was eight days old, the child, myself, and all our possessions were upset in the wagon and rolled down the bank of the river four or five feet into the water. All was uproar and the men searched desperately for our new son. After considerable searching, Bishop Hunter spied a little piece of his red nightgown and found him beside a box, apparently dead. He held him up by the feet and gave him the name of Alma Platte, after the river he had just been fished out of.
The baby recovered completely with no ill effects.

That is just amazing. I love recorded miracles. The Lord watches over his people.
